How to enable mouse keys on Windows 11

Enable Mouse keys on Windows 11?

The mouse keys feature allows you to control the mouse with a numeric keypad instead of inputting a real optical/ bluetooth mouse. 

Follow below steps and you will be able to enable mouse keys on your Windows 11.

First step

Press Windows + I at the same time, and launch the setting app. You'll see the Accessibility option on the left sidebar, click on it, then take your cursor to the right part. Now Scroll down a little and click on the "mouse" option. And you'll get to enable (On) or disable (Off) Mouse keys feature. 


When you enable the mouse keys feature, you'll get to see these options. 

Only use mouse keys when Num is enabled.

Show the mouse keys on the taskbar.

How to manage the speed of the cursor when the Mouse keys feature is enabled? 


With all the other options you'll get to see an option that says 

— Hold the Ctrl key to speed up and the Shift key to slow down.


Simply enable this option along with other options.


This will allow you To speed up the cursor by clicking the CTRL button while moving the cursor. Where you can slow the speed by clicking the Shift button while moving the cursor. This will decrease the speed.


Other ways of enabling Mouse Keys feature on your windows 11

To activate the mouse key feature in Windows 11, click Left Alt, Left Shift and Num Lock together, this will pop up the mouse key option. 


Otherwise, 


Open control panel, select Ease of Access and go to Ease of Access Center.


Now click on the “Make the mouse easier to use” link.


Now you can Enable or disable the “Turn on Mouse Keys” option. 

You will find this option in the “Control the mouse with the keyboard” section.


How to control the mouse with keys?

Below I have given a list of the keys that will perform a specific task. 


Press "8" to Move up,

"4" to Move left.

"6" to Move right.

"2" to Move down.

"9" to Move upwards in the right direction.

"7" to Move upwards in the left path.

"1" to Move downwards in the left direction.

"3" to Move downwards in the right direction.

'/' to Select the left mouse button.

(–) to Select the right mouse button.

(*) to Select both mouse buttons.

"5" to If the left button is selected, then pressing this key will do the left click. If the right mouse button is selected, then pressing this key will do the right-click.

"+" to If the left mouse button is the active button, then pressing this key will double-click.

"0" to Drag an item.

"." to Drop an item.
